Big donor claims Bill Clinton told him Hillary’s running for prez in 2016

A Greek-American real-estate honcho claims Bill Clinton told him that wife Hillary will again chase the presidency in 2016, according to a new report.

“Hillary will be our next president and she will be a great one,” Angelo Tsakopoulos, 76, told the Greek Reporter at a private banquet in California last weekend. “I talked to her husband, and he confirmed it. She will run.”

Tsakapoulos has been a heavyweight donor to Clinton political campaigns and counts the power couple as close friends.

President Obama appointed the real-estate big’s daughter, Eleni Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis, as ambassador to Hungary in 2010 and she was sworn in by then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The power broker’s daughter is expected to serve as a key adviser to Hillary during her second run at the presidency, her father told the paper.

Hillary has been coy about her presidential aspirations since stepping down from the top diplomatic post in January, but is widely expected to run again.

She lost a bruising Democratic primary campaign against Obama in 2008, but eventually threw her support behind him and was offered the secretary of state job after he won the presidency.

But citing a desire to recalibrate her political ambitions, Clinton stepped aside from the position in January and was replaced by Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry.

Hillary, a tireless politico, almost immediately went online with a brand new Web site — http://www.hillaryclintonoffice.com — just days after stepping down.

The site leads to a glittering glamour shot of the 65-year-old former New York senator and a contact link, but does not indicate her future plans.

Hillary suffered a concussion in December and was briefly hospitalized for a blood clot in her brain before recovering.

Angelo Tsakapoulos was unavailable for comment yesterday.

The formidable political player donated heavily to Bill Clinton’s presidential campaigns and was rewarded with some shut-eye in the White House’s Lincoln Bedroom.

After arriving in America as a penniless teen, Tsakapoulos rose to become one of California’s most influential real-estate developers.

Political insiders believe the Clintons have deftly maintained their wide network of rich and powerful friends since Hillary’s 2008 defeat and are well situated for another presidential push.

Tsakapoulos is expected to be a major financier for Hillary’s presumed 2016 run.
