HBOWinter came and crashed HBO Go. The season four premiere of Game of Thrones—and the season three premiere of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus series Veep and debut of new comedy Silicon Valley—predictably crashed HBO's streaming service.
"Looks like there's trouble in the realm. Apologies for the inconvenience. We'll be providing updates, so please stay tuned. #GameofThrones," the official HBO Go account tweeted, followed by: "Having trouble accessing @HBO GO? Send a raven. @GameOfThrones will be available soon on HBO On Demand with some cable providers."
As the problems persisted, HBO Go continued to address angry users. "We're sorry for all of the trouble, but if you're an @HBO subscriber, the @GameOfThrones premiere replays at 11 PM EST," it tweeted. Three hours after the initial reports of crashes, HBO Go tweeted: "The service has returned to several platforms and we're working hard towards full recovery, which we expect soon."
HBO Go recently crashed during the True Detective season finale.
"HBO Go did experience issues due to overwhelming demand around the premiere of Game of Thrones," HBO said in a statement on Sunday night. "The service has returned to several platforms and we are working hard towards full recovery, which we expect soon."
