Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco may have kept their past relationship out of the public eye as much as possible, but now the Big Bang Theory actor is beginning to shed a little light on the two-year romance.

"We're dear friends, still. Kaley's not just an ex, she's a part of my life," Galecki explained in the December issue of CBS Watch! magazine.

But the notoriously private star shared his reasons as to why he tried to keep his private life just that, private.

"I just don't like to speak about it. And not because I'm trying to be enigmatic; I just worry that it will conflict with people's acceptance of Leonard and Penny."

He added, "I get the curiosity, but I don't want to distract from the story."

Galecki and Cuoco have been on the hit series since 2007 and managed to keep most people in the dark about their real-life romance.

"We dated for almost two years. It was such a huge part of my life and no one knew about it," Cuoco revealed to the magazine back in September 2010.

"This is the first time I've ever talked about it, ever. It was a wonderful relationship, but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together."

Cuoco is now engaged to tennis pro Ryan Sweeting after a whirlwind romance over the summer.

Cuoco opened up about her engagement during a Nov. 7, appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"I am very, very happy," the 27-year-old TV star said. "Life is so good right now. I cannot even tell you!"
