Macklemore & Ryan Lewis walked away with an impressive four awards at the 2014 Grammys, but Macklemore himself took a moment later to express his feelings about one win in particular, namely in the Best Rap Album category.

The "Thrift Shop" rapper sent a text to Kendrick Lamar, telling him how he should have been the one to take home that prize.

"You got robbed. I wanted you to win. You should have," Macklemore wrote in the message, which he then posted to his Instagram account. "It's weird and sucks that I robbed you. I was gonna say that during the speech. Then the music started playing during my speech, and I froze. Anyway, you know what it is. Congrats on this year and your music. Appreciate you as an artist and as a friend. Much love."

Macklemore also included a caption with the photo of the text that read, "My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved Best Rap Album. I'm honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that's taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC [Good Kid, m.A.A.d.] it's proper respect."

In additon to Best Rap Album, Macklemore & Lewis also earned Grammys for Best Rap and BestPerformance for "Thrift Shop," as well for Best New Artist.

Meanwhile, Lamar, who was nominated in seven categories, left completely empty-handed.
