*NSYNC Reunion May Be Planned For MTV's 2013 Video Music Awards

REUNITING?

After saying "Bye, Bye, Bye" in the early '00s, the boys of *NSYNC may finally be reuniting.

Page Six is reporting that Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Justin Timberlake will perform together for the first time in years at this Sunday's Video Music Awards on MTV.

It was announced last week that Timberlake will perform at the upcoming awards show. He's also set to receive a major honor: the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. Reports on the reunion speculate that the boy band will reunite to celebrate Timberlake's award.

After releasing their last album, "Celebrity," in 2001, and going on a subsequent tour to promote the album, appearances by all five members of *NSYNC have been rare. "I don't think we're doing anything," Bass said in an interview earlier this year. "I don't think [a reunion] would happen. Everyone is doing their own thing. Justin's doing his thing. I don't think he would have a moment off to do an *NSYNC album. He's the busy one."

Timberlake is set to have a big night at the VMAs, regardless of whether he is joined by his former *NSYNC bandmates. The 32-year-old singer is tied with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for the most nominations at six nods. He is up for awards including Video of the Year, Best Male Video, and Best Pop Video. Other artists confirmed to perform at the awards show include Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga.

Requests for comment from MTV were not immediately returned.
